your biggest advocates, encouraging you in all endeavors, including athletics, creativity, music, and more.
Most of the time, mothers would give their children a hearty hug to show how happy they are whenever their children celebrate a significant occasion or accomplishment.
Sadly, a mother by the name of Amber Wright received a lot of unfavorable feedback from social media
users when she shared a touching moment she had with her 16-year-old son Brixton Wright after his football team won a game.
In August 2023, Amber shared a video that was shot by one of her closest pals. The mother and boy were clearly ecstatic with the win; in fact, he carried her as she gave him a big hug.
‘This boy will always and forever have my complete heart. I’m so grateful to Gina for capturing this moment’s conclusion.
After his game, when I went to give my darling child a hug, he took me up and simply held me,” the mother wrote.
Unexpectedly, the once-wholesome moment between the mother and her son became the subject of a contentious internet discussion as ful users found the interaction unsuitable.
‘I never expected it to turn into something where people are like, ‘You’re sexually abusing him!,’ Amber stated in a
recent interview with Today. You’re shaping him up! Child protective services are receiving my call.
The mother defended her conduct by saying that she came from a loving household and that she always gave her father a big embrace.
She continued by saying that the situation in the viral video was just typical for her and her son. Amber added that Brixton had stuck to her that day for longer than usual.
His father’s passing on April 4, which is represented by the number 44 on his shirt, had special meaning for him.
She said, ‘I suppose as his mom, I’m his safe space. He was feeling emotional.
Later, Amber revealed screenshots of Brixton’s communication to a friend, in which he defended his mother and referred to her as his “hero.”
He later revealed that whereas Amber never missed a game and was always there for him, he had grown up with ‘an alcoholic dad’ who would only go to games when he was sober.
She and I both experienced strong emotions. All it was, Brixton wrote in the conversation, was a giant hug from me to her.
Amber stated, ‘I was so proud,’ to Today. I was a proud mother giving my child a hug.
Unfortunately, the video Amber released still received criticism from viewers who felt what she did wasn’t suitable.
Nothing wrong with the hug, but Mama’s feet need to have been on the ground at all times, one person wrote.
While some mothers expressed hatred towards her, others supported her conduct by saying that they also held their sons in the same way.
One person remarked, ‘We single mommies and our sons share a closeness others can’t fathom.
‘We hugged like this too! I’m a single mother, and my son played football for seven years! Nothing is wrong with it at all. Yet another wrote.
